Letter 18900720
Unionville, Missouri
July the 20th, 90
Mr. E. E. Delk:
Dear cousin,
Your welcome letter was received several days ago. Was very glad to hear from you. I neglchg (neglected) writing so long but if you will pardon me this time I will try and not do so again. I am at Ford’s grocery room writing. It has been misting nearly all fore noon but it is clear now. Nan is still at grandpas. He lost five dollars this week. He is going to stay next week and help grandpa put up his hay. I am coming to town about the middle of August to learn the millinary and dress making. I do not know how long I will stay. Well you asked me who my good Jim Richey was going with. He has went with Minnie Dickson a while but they have played out now and he is still alone in this world yet. I have not got any fellow. I went with Tolby Christian a few times I guess since you left. I got one letter from Anne since they moved to Milan. She talked like she liked it real well. I have been sick for the last few days but am well now.
Ethelred told me what you told me. Well I would rather not if you will let me off this time. Please do.
Well the old city is just full to day but I do not know many.
Well I guess I will close for I haven’t time to write any more. Haven’t had time to write this so that you can read it, but may be it will do until I am not so hurried.
So I remain your cousin as ever, Sallie Dickson
Please answer soon.
Grandma has been very bad of late but she was some better this morning.
The end.
Excuse these scribblings and blothes. (scribbling and blotches?)
