Reincarnation
I sometimes wonder who I am
And where I lived one time,
I have strange memories
And I'll try to tell them in this rhyme.
I close my eyes in fitful sleep
And scenes come trooping by,
Of some long since forgotten time
I Can't tell where or why.
I see the trees, and fields, and lances,
Of some far land, or place,
I try to grasp them as they come
And fit them in their place.
But Oh! they soar, away, away,
To come again, some other time,
And that is why I'm telling you
This story in a rhyme.
For Oh! it seems I once did live
In some far distant place,
And that I might have once belonged
To some forgotten race.
