Miss Martha and Hattie Maitlen
Dunkirk, Ind.
Dear cousins, it is with pleasure I write you.
My brother F. O. gave me your address and told me to write you. I am well and hope this may find you all well.
The weather is very pleasant here to day. Yesterday was very stormy. The past month has been very bad.
I am working for the Star Publishing Company. I have been working for them for the past 18 months. I have been collecting & delivering for them since last June. It is a very easy job. I work on the average of about 6 hours per day.
I rec’d a letter from F. O. a few days ago stating he had bought a farm in Missouri.
I haven’t been home since Dec. 1891. It is hard for me to get off work more than 2 days at a time as my work is steady and no one but me to do it.
There is a gentleman here by the name of Melton that is from near Dunkirk. He is acquainted with Uncle George Delk. I got acquainted with him at lodge. We both belong to the Odd Fellows so you will know I am rather odd.
Well I will close for (?) I tire your patience.
I would be please to hear from both of you.
I remain your unknown friend and cousin,
E. E. Delk
