Letter 18910419
Leroy, Iowa April the 19 -- 1891
Mr. E. E. Delk
Dear Brother,
I will write you a few lines this afternoon. We received your letter some time ago.
We are living in Leroy now, I like our home very much. We have a very pretty front yard. It is covered with bluegrass.
We have no garden made yet. It has been so wet. We have hardly had two dry days at a time this spring.
Well, Elmer, I don’t feel a bit like writing. I have the toothache. I have had it nearly all the time for five weeks & there is not a hole in any tooth large enough to get the head of a pin in. I & the children have been like the weather, one day sick and one day well ever since we moved. There has been none of the folks down yet. I want to go up awe fell bad. Have set four different times to go. Got disappointed every time. Now I am not going to get another day, but the first time I can go, I will board the train & go.
The boys are going to school. There has been a boarding house & mill put up in Leroy since we came here. How are you doing in your business. Tell us about all the folks.
My love to you and all the relation. Tell aunt I would like to come down & see her and maybe I will before another year goes by.
Your sister, Lillie
