1892 (December 3)
Unionville, Mo. Dec. 3” 1892
Dear Brother & Sister,
Yours of recent date gladly received. Found us all well. Uncle George is getting quite feeble. More so than you would imagine. The rest are all well as far as I know. The last word from Iowa the folks were all in usual health. Ida & Meda are both married. I don’t know just when they got married. From what I heard I suppose they had a big time getting there. I never hear from Joe & Sil. Neither does J. T. ever write to me. I recon they don’t think much of F. O. from the way some of them treat me.
Well we are having it pretty muddy just now. I took thanksgiving with Isaac & Abby Davis of Jamesport, Mo. Had a good time. Was with them from Monday evening untill Thursday eve at 5--15 P. M. so you may know I had a jovel time. Stopped at Trenton going & coming for a short time. Mary & some of the babys were very unwell.
Well Martha I will answer yours & Ell’s question this way, I may come east this winter & I may not. Don’t look for me for fear of being disappointed in your look. I am intending to go to Iowa by the 15” of the inst. Then if I can I will slip out to see you for a short visit.
Say ask Jane next time you see her if she got my letter & tell her & Mort that I am looking for their picture. Say did your Ma & Uncle Geo” get those memorial cards of Aunt Betty’s that uncle sent them.
Say Ell on what (?) can lots be bought at & in what part of the city.(Yes Shiff all O. K.) send again soon as is convenient.
Well as I can’t think of any more of importance to write will close hoping to hear from you soon. Tell Hattie & Jns to write me. Give my love to your Pa & Ma. With kind regards to all , I remain ever your affectionate brother, F. O. Delk
