Dear Brother Sister & Family
I recieved your kind and welcome letter Saturday Glad to hear from you all but sorry to hear sister is not feeling well hope she will be better soon. Poor sole has got to suffer and why I cant see the good in it maby the weather will help her if it ever gets warm. It is noon and it starting to rain again it will snow somore. it snowed & hailed in Portland last Sunday 4 in Deep out here about 3 in then froze so Oregon climate is changed some I guess.
Well Elmer I know what suffering is since I came Back I have not had over 2 hours sleep in any one day or night since I got back for breath and my head splitting open every night. I wish I could die and get out of it all it is hard to have to choke to Death by inches but I cant stop or help it but the weather is awful bad I know cold and wet all the time since I ben back.
I thought if I could get out of town on a place I might get able to earn something so Mr. Collis thought the same so him and his good wife brought me & my bed out 5 weeks ago yesterday and I havent done 1/2 hours work only sunk lower and lowed dont eat nor cant sleep so I cant do nothing am so weak can hardly walk acrost the house but I could not stay in Portland & pay 3 Dol a week for a Room and not work stayed five weeks before I could get away the best I could do so I dont know what to do they live in Portland come out every Saturday afternoon Go back monday morning he has an ofice in Portland he is an old man and a scotchman.
