Easter

The sun is smiling and on the breeze
There's a breath of fragrance from all the trees;
The flowers just peeping, the stream beside
Are smiling good morning this Easter-tide.

All nature rejoices, and we may as well
The news of salvation be eager to tell;
Our Lord is risen, the glad news confide
To the children of men this Easter-tide

For some have ne'er tasted the blessing in store
And some have ne'er heard the story before,
Of a Savior who's risen, who for our sins died,
Many years ago this bright-tide.

While the birds are all singing and nature rejoice
Let us children of one Father, lift up our voice;
And tell of a Savior in Glory who died,
And now stands as a ransom this Easter-tide.
