Miscellaneous Verses
April 24, 1919 What's the use of going round
Always looking on the ground,
Never looking at the sky
Where the clouds go sailing by.
If we'd look we'd see the sun
Jolly round and full of fun
Shining down with smiling faces,
Making earth a happy place.
What's the use of going round
Always looking on the ground
When the sun is shining in the sky
Why not smile instead of cry.
It would be nice, if when we teach
We'd always practice what we preach,
But the sun's not always in the sky
That's why I sometimes have to cry.
I wish that I knew what to do
I'm tired and full of trouble,
It seems that every way I turn
I find my sorrows double.
I know in truth their not so bad
But what they might be mended,
And if I had a little cash
I soon would have them ended.
